Naomi Campbell`s boyfriend is throwing her a star-studded 40th birthday party
The supermodel will celebrate the milestone birthday on May 22 and her Russian billionaire lover Vladimir Doronin is keen to give her the "party of the year" in Cannes, France . Insiders claim Doronin will spend millions on the bash to ensure Naomi`s party keeps up with ones held by other stars.
"Naomi`s birthday is going to be as lavish as other recent big celebrity 40th birthdays, such as Sean Combs, Jay-Z and Simon Cowell," the insider told the New York Post newspaper. "Invites are already being sent out and people are expected to jet in from New York , London and Moscow .
" Vladimir is planning and paying for the whole event, which is slated for May 22 in or near Cannes . There will be a series of events for Naomi leading up to the big party at a secret location, which is believed to be on a super-yacht."
Doronin is believed to have chosen Cannes for the party because he and Naomi met there in 2008.
Naomi recently revealed she never expected to make it to 40. She was convinced her problems with anger and alcohol and drug abuse would kill her long before she reached her fourth decade.
"I thought I`d never actually make this birthday," she said. "I`ve had times when it was hard for me to look at myself in the mirror, because I didn`t really like who I was. Anger wasn`t the only one of my issues - I have lots of them. I had to get clean and stay in the AA program. I understand what keeps me on the right path."
